What is the procedure of fixing dental veneers?
1) After preliminary examination the dentist will explain you treatments along with the cost involved and will take you consent to proceed with the procedures.
2) The teeth and gums will be numbed with local anesthesia so that you will not feel anything while the treatment is done. Then the dentist will reshape and prepare the surfaces of the teeth to accommodate the designed veneers.
3) A tiny amount of front surface of your teeth will be removed (shaved) using the dental tool called burr (A dental file or drill). The removed amount of thickness will be equal to the dental veneers that will be placed on your tooth.
4) A mould is prepared by placing special dental putty on your teeth. The mould will have the impression of you teeth just like a case that can hold your teeth perfectly.
5) Within 1 to 3 weeks the dental veneers are prepared in the dental laboratory as per the mold impression sent by the dentist.
6) Dentist might offer you temporary dental veneers for protecting your prepared teeth, since the fabricated dental veneers would take time to arrive from dental lab.
7) The second appointment with your dentist will be made for fixing the dental veneers on your teeth. After removing the temporary dental veneers if any the dentist will exam the dental veneers by placing it on your teeth to find out if further adjustments are needed.
8) For cementing the teeth with the dental veneers the dentist will clean your teeth with special acid gel.
9)The dental veneers will be cemented to the teeth and using curing light surface will be activated, so that it gets permanently bonded with your prepared teeth. The excess cement is trimmed and polished to give a natural touch and beauty.
